Small and mid-cap stocks have outperformed large companies over the long term, and unfortunately investors in large-cap indexes like Nasdaq often miss out on early gains in smaller tech companies (<$20bn market cap) in sectors being disrupted. For example, cybersecurity disruptor Palo Alto Networks was added to the Nasdaq-100 in December of 2021, but by then investors had missed out on 11x gains between 2012 and 2021.

Ideal clients for Tilden Path Capital have a long-term outlook (3-5 years or more) for their investment journey. Conversely, we don’t encourage a client looking for quick wins to invest with Tilden Path – our goal is to catch prospective companies early for maximum long-term investment growth.
-
Tilden Path Capital takes pride in being careful stewards of our investors' capital. We don’t follow fads, or chase investments at any price. We default to a margin of safety for our investments, which protects against (but does not eliminate) the risk from inevitable unpredictable situations.
Our motto for investing follows a strategy most famously adopted by Warren Buffett, as outlined in Berkshire’s shareholder letter of 1988: “When we own portions of outstanding businesses with outstanding managements, our favorite holding period is forever.”

Tilden Path Capital’s name takes inspiration from Tilden Regional Park – a 2,000-acre park known for its panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, including sunsets on the Golden Gate Bridge. The paths in Tilden Park symbolize the serene, creative journey for Tilden Path Capital and its clients, where one can focus, challenge the market’s assumptions, and make well-researched long-term decisions. All these things lead to the end of the path: achieving one’s investment goal of financial freedom.
-
Tilden Path’s fee model is based on management fee and a performance fee based on gains above a threshold.
-
As a fiduciary, Tilden Path Capital is required by law to keep our clients’ interests ahead of our own. We work to maximize investment gains for our clients, not for ourselves. Our investing strategy is designed to best achieve our clients’ long-term financial goals while minimizing taxes and fees.
